that's sum hummus!

Allow me to introduce you to one of my downfalls:

Really, I just about stuffed myself on this for lunch yesterday.  So good.

Hummus has always been for me more of a delicacy to indulge in every once in a while, because not only do I not buy many spread-like things (other than peanut butter), it is generally a little spendy to buy too frequently.  That all changed this week though, when I learned how to make it (and I think I like mine better than the store brand anyway!) from 79 cent cans of Garbanzo beans and a few other ingredients that I normally have on hand anyway.  The only thing I had to 'invest' in was the can of Tahini (sesame seed paste for those of you who are uneducated like myself).  It cost about $5.99 for a 12 oz. tin, but you only use about 4 tsp. at a time, so I think its worth it in the long run.  I mean, just one 10 oz. container of Hummus at Safeway runs about $5.

yum, I love hummus! I just made some this week, it's been great to have on my sandwiches. My recipe has no water and more olive oil and tahini. I should try yours and see which I like best. I used a tsp of curry powder, gives it a bit of a kick.
